No Blame

When a soul is born
into a body of heat
strong as the sun,
eyes have to squint to
see the good of it.
He lived
to enjoy simple pleasures,
to endure lowly means,
to stay close to passion
and free of wondering.
to go where they sent him,
to do what he was told,
to make mistakes
and hold no regrets.
to plant a strong seed,
to let it grow,
to give it up
and walk away.

When a fatherhood is spent
making an orphaned child,
her vision blurs
and goodness hides
like sun behind clouds.
She lives
to find her joy,
to know sweet forgiveness,
to warm her heart
and love her self.
to follow the path,
to get lost and be found,
to make mistakes
and be held accountable.
to plant seeds of her own,
to let them grow,
to give them up
and walk away.
