dear Dalai,
how long does it take to reincarnate? must
a body be entirely decomposed before a
soul can recompose? and all memory of a
man’s actions, all results of his deeds be
played out? in which case, I prolong my
father’s lingering in bardo by dredging up
these thoughts of him. or is it my
recapitulation process that will release him
from bondage, so he can walk the planet
once more to hunt and drink and smoke and
war and conceive a daughter and bury a
wife and plant a garden and face his own
demise again.
as around and around we all go.
