ST. GEORGE’S GREEK BAZAAR BRINGS KINGSTON 3-DAY FEAST FIT FOR THE GODS THIS WEEKEND

The Greeks know how to put on the food, and the members of St. George’s Greek Orthodox Church in Kingston are no exception. For more than 25 years, they’ve been putting on a Greek food extravaganza: a sit-down-with-aproned-waitresses-serving-you affair that runs for three days.

This year’s Greek Bazaar will be held this Friday, November 20 from 4 to 10 p.m., Saturday, November 21 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday, November 22 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Traditional homemade Greek food and pastries – the likes of which would make Zorba raise his arms and dance – will be on the menu for eat-in or takeout. Father Steven Sarigianis reports that more than 1,200 meals were served at last year’s Bazaar, and the ladies are ready to produce enough delectable edibles to match that effort again this year.

There will also be a holiday boutique with booths full of gifts, needlecrafts and White Elephant items for sale. Come celebrate the heritage, culture and food of Greece at this three-day Bazaar. St. George’s Greek Orthodox Church is located at 294 Greenkill Avenue, off Washington Avenue in Kingston. For more information call (845) 331-3522.
