This Sunday, December 6 at 3 p.m., a holiday tradition continues as the Nebraska Theater Caravan returns to Poughkeepsie to perform Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. In a version adapted by Omaha’s own Charles Jones, the musical has gone on tour nationally and has been performed in over 600 cities in 49 states and four Canadian provinces. The production brims with the songs and sights of an old-fashioned Victorian Christmas, and remains a convincing illustration of some of the injustices of the Industrial Revolution, the power of redemption and the necessity for people to be unselfish and caring.
A Christmas Carol with the Nebraska Theater Caravan will be presented at the Bardavon for one performance only. Tickets are available for $34 for adults, $31 for students and seniors and $28 for Bardavon members, and can be purchased at the Bardavon box office at 35 Market Street in Poughkeepsie or through www.ticketmaster.com.
